Roulette Bets
Roulette bets can be separated into categories, the first of which is referred to as inside bets. The field of inside bets includes many options, which we’ll detail below.
Inside Bets
A single, or straight, bet is a wager that the outcome will be a single number. The bet is placed directly on the square o the given number.
A split bet is a wager the outcome will be one of two adjacent, either vertically or horizontally, numbers (e.g. 14-17 or 8-9). The bet is placed on any border between two common numbers.
A street bet is a wager the outcome will be one of three consecutive numbers (e.g. 7-8-9). The bet is placed on the outside border of a horizontal line of numbers.
A corner, or square, bet is a wager the outcome will be one of three consecutive numbers (e.g. 7-8-9). The bet is placed on the shared corner.
A six line, or double street, bet is A wager the outcome will be one of six numbers that share two adjacent horizontal lines (e.g. 31-32-33-34-35-36). The bet is placed on the outside corner of the two numbers on the right or left.
A trio bet is a wager the outcome will be one of three numbers that includes a 0, such as 0-1-2 (American or European Rules); 0-2-3 (European Roulette only); 0-00-2 or 00-2-3 (American Roulette only). The bet is placed on the outside corner of the two numbers on the right or left.
A basket, or first four, bet is a wager placed on 0-1-2-3 (European Roulette only). The bet is placed on the outside corner shared by 0-1 or 0-3.
A top line bet is a wager placed on 0-00-1-2-3 (American Roulette only). The bet is placed on the outside corner shared by 0-1 or 00-3.
Outside Bets
The second set of wagering options is referred to as Outside Bets. Each outside bet has a specific position that is clearly labeled on the table.
A low, or manque, bet is a wager the outcome will fall between 1 and 18.
A high, or passe, bet is a wager the outcome will fall between 19 and 36.
A red or black, or rouge ou noir, bet is a wager the outcome will be either red or black.
An even or odd, or pair ou impair, bet is a wager the outcome will be either Odd or Even.
A dozen bet is a wager the outcome will fall within the first dozen (1-12) Première douzaine or P12, the second dozen (13-24) Moyenne douzaine or M12, or the third dozen (25-36) Dernière douzaine or D12.
A column bet is a wager that the outcome will be within a given vertical column on the betting field.
A snake bet is a unique wager that follows a meandering path on the game board. The bet includes numbers 1, 5, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 23, 27, 30, 32, and 34.
Announced Bets
The third selection of betting options are referred to as Announced Bets. These bets are commonly found in European and French Rules Roulette. The betting placement follows the same scheme as the outside bets in Roulette and have a specific position on the table.
A neighbors of zero, or voisins du zero, bet is a wager that consists of 17 numbers located to the left and right of the zero. Those numbers are 22, 18, 29, 7, 28, 12, 35, 3, 26, 0, 32, 15, 19, 4, 21, 2, 25.
A third of the wheel, or tiers du cylindre, bet is a wager that consists of the third of the Roulette wheel directly opposite the zero. The wager includes numbers 27, 13, 36, 11, 30, 8, 23, 10, 5, 24, 16, 33.
An orphans, or orphelins, bet is a wager that consist of the two sections that don’t include the numbers from the ‘voisins du zero’ and ‘Tiers’ sections. Those numbers are 17, 34, 6 and 1, 20, 14, 31, 9.

The Top Roulette Bets

That is, to minimize your potential losses. The bet is a useful one because each column contains a mixture of red and black positions that you can use to your advantage. The third column has more red numbers than any other column and the second column offers the same advantage when it comes to black numbers. This bet pays out at 2:1 on a wager.
The straight bet is one every player should consider at some point. It is by far the riskiest, but it offers the highest payout. A straight bet is the player’s prediction the roulette ball will come to rest on a specific number position out of the 36 available. The Straight bet pays 35:1 on a wager.
Finally, the Split bet is one to consider. A split bet is a prediction the roulette ball will land on one of two numbers that are adjacent to each other on the betting field. Place your wager on the shared border between the two numbers. If you’re right, you’ll get paid out at 18:1 on your wager.
